Silver Custom Bracelet

I have just discovered a wonderful jewellery artist, Naked Jewelry, on Etsy.  Here is a link to her shop:  http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5584912

I have a very tiny wrist, so I have always had a hard time finding bracelets that fit me but were still suitable for an adult.  As I move into mid-life, I am even less interested in wearing children’s jewellery.  I sent out an Alchemy request on Etsy.com for someone to make me a silver bracelet I would actually like, and I really hit the jackpot with Naked Jewelry!

The bracelet needed to be only 7″ in diameter.  I asked for it to be both patterned and highly polished.  Naked Jewelry made me this lovely bracelet that is patterned to resemble polished silver birch bark – beautiful!

I highly recommend this artist for her friendliness, helpfulness, and the very high quality of both materials and workmanship – not to mention her very reasonable prices!  I feel like I’ve been given a precious gift in commissioning this piece of jewellery, and I will treasure it!

Introducing Wee Sandy’s other blogs…

In determining what will be included on Wee Sandy’s main blog (this one!), we realized that it would be a good idea to develop a few other blogs. This makes it possible to explore completely different themes and topics, without compromising the mood of any one particular blog.

Here’s what we have so far:

WEE SANDY – (this site) This is the hub of activity, a place to discuss crafting of all types, to share links to other crafters, and to provide links to a wide diversity of other blogs and sites that might be quite unrelated to what we do here, but that we are also interested in! Feel free to suggest new links to almost anything at all that you have found interesting, inspiring, thought-provoking, or otherwise worth seeing!

EXPLORING HEALTH & HEALING – This is a forum to discuss health and healing on every level – physical, mental, spiritual, emotional…you name it. There will be a strong focus on alternative methods of healing, and on how to live a healthy lifestyle. This would be the place to share ideas about anything from organic gardening to natural pet care, from antibiotic-free emergency health care to natural soapmaking. Let me know what you’re interested in, and we will include anything that seems to fit the feeling we’re looking for.

WEE SANDY COLLECTIBLE MINIATURES – This will be where the collectibles can be found. I plan to have a gallery to show my bears & friends, your bears & friends, and anything related that you might be interested in seeing. Whether you are looking to adopt a collectible miniature teddy bear, find a pattern to make your own, or just enjoy viewing other people’s cute little creations, this will be a site for you!

THE SPIRIT IS WILLING – What brings you joy? What lifts your heart and soul? This site will be a place to share experiences, thoughts, poetry, art, quotations, or anything else that you have found spiritually inspirational and uplifting. Crafts may be included here, too, but they will need to be purposeful from a meditative or spiritual standpoint (otherwise, share them on the main WEE SANDY page!).

Future Blogs? – Someone suggested a scholarly page, dedicated to teaching on many levels. As I have my B.Ed (teaching degree), and have many, many years’ experience successfully homeschooling my now-adult child, this might be a good idea down the road a bit.  I consider myself a lifelong learner, and am always interested in courses, workshops, self-help books, and so on.  Maybe the blog could be called The Natural Learner, or Eternal Scholar, or…? This might also be a good place to post How To articles. Please send me input about this idea, and let me know whether it is something that might be useful and of interest to you!

Please feel free to comment, to submit ideas and articles, and to help form these blogs into communities in which you are a valued local citizen!

Adding to the blogroll…

I have begun adding my favourite blogs and other websites to my blogroll. Check them out – they’re all great! For now, they are all crafters or artists, but I might list other categories later.

If you know of a great blog or website that you think I might like to add, please send me a link and I’ll take a look at it!

Wee Sandy’s first blog post

Hmm…I’m not sure how this all works, but I thought it was time that Wee Sandy entered the 21st century and started a blog!

My apologies in advance for any odd behaviour or glitches as I experiment and try to figure everything out!

This is Honey Bear, the quintessential Wee Sandy collectible miniature.  He meets all collectible club standards:

*  original design

*  3.5″ maximum height

*  looks like a full-sized bear

*  stitched inside out & turned

*  high quality materials:  soft, long-pile fur; ultrasuede paw pads; genuine onyx eyes; miniature cotter pin & disk joints

*  comes with a certificate of authenticity

I will be posting several of the little bears, soon.  Please leave me a comment so I’ll know that you’ve found me!  I can also be reached at weesandy@shaw.ca .

If you know your way around WordPress blogs, please feel free to offer me tips or advice!
